MSE Welcomes Administrative Services Assistant and UConn Alumna to the Staff

Kaitlyn Cullen, MSE Administrative Services Assistant

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering extends a warm welcome to new staff member, Kaitlyn Cullen, a UConn alumna who takes over as the  Administrative Services Assistant for MSE. 

Kaitlyn joins the staff with a wealth of experience. Having graduated UConn with a dual B.A. in Psychology and Human Development, Kaitlyn worked at various administrative positions from Boston to Rocky Hill, CT. Most recently, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Cigna in Bloomfield, CT, where she assisted with recruitment, planning and coordinating training, and managed expenses for all IT interns, co-ops, and early career development associates, among other tasks. Before that, Kaitlyn temped as a Data Analyst at Avid Marketing Group in Rocky Hill, CT, where she synthesized and catalogued raw data for reporting and record-keeping and developed multimedia material showcasing analysis of sales data. 

Prior to returning to Connecticut, Kaitlyn worked for two years in Boston as an Administrative Assistant for MassMutual Financial Group, where she was responsible for developing various reports to increase team efficiency, managing schedules and requests for a team of nine, including the Vice President of the Strategic Distribution Partners, essential website access for MassMutual and partner firms, and organizing a conference, including boarding and activities, for a partner firm, for a group of 65 attendees. At MassMutual, Kaitlyn created and implemented their first annual customer service feedback survey. 

Kaitlyn’s experience utilizing technology and communication among various people, in addition to her time management and multitasking capabilities, will be an asset to the department.
